Dr. Matthew Koshivas
Dr. Matt Koshivas earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences in 2022 and completed his post-grad training in small animal rotating internship in 2023. He also holds undergraduate degrees in Animal Science, Nutrition and Food Science, and Zoology, which sparked his lasting interest in preventive medicine and nutrition.
As a general practice veterinarian, Dr. Matt enjoys building lasting relationships with pets and their families while helping patients stay healthy through every stage of life. He has a particular passion for preventive care, nutrition, and using a thorough, diagnostics-focused approach to medicine. He believes that taking the time to understand the whole picture allows him to provide the best care possible for each individual patient.
Dr. Matt is committed to making veterinary medicine a collaborative process. He values client education and believes that the best outcomes happen when veterinarians and pet owners work together as a team. Whether discussing preventive care, investigating a new medical concern, or managing a chronic condition, he strives to ensure clients feel informed, supported, and confident in their pet’s care.
Before pursuing veterinary medicine, Dr. Matt worked in construction and baking, experiences that helped shape his strong work ethic and practical approach to problem-solving. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys running, rock climbing, reading, and baking. He shares his home with a very understanding collection of cookbooks and an ever-growing list of trails and climbing routes he’d like to explore.
